Roman Society Centenary Trip to Rome

The Roman Society Centenary Trip to the British School at Rome took place in July (17th-24th).

Day 1                        London/Rome
Saturday 17th July      Fly to Rome and transfer to the British School for a 7-night stay (or nearby hotel).

Day 2                        Rome
Sunday 18th July        Tour to Palatine Hill for the excavations.  Continue to view some of the Catacombs.

Day 3                        Rome
Monday 19th July       Half-day morning tour to view the late Byzantine mosaic of San Clemente.

Day 4                        Rome
Tuesday 20th July       Full day tour in Rome to the Archaeological National Museum and the Museum of Villa Giulia.

Day 5                        Tivoli
Wednesday 21st July   A leisurely excursion to Tivoli to visit Villa Adriana with the option of including the Villa d’Este.

Day 6                        Herculaneum
Thursday 22nd July     Full day tour to Herculaneum in the company of Prof. Andrew Wallace-Hadrill.

Day 7                        Rome
Friday 23rd July          Free day for private exploration.  Farewell dinner.

Day 8                        Rome/London
Saturday 24th July      Return to the airport for flights back to London.
